I love my Supernova. The kayak slices really easily all while allowing me to feel comfortable in the kayak. It's been fun to practice cartwheels, stern stalls, bow stalls, pirouettes, rock splats and other tricks in this kayak.

The best modern full slice by far. Super fun to paddle down river and throw down on a big wave or in a hole. The best part is with modern outfitting you can extend the play for hours on end without having to take breaks to regain feeling in your legs.

Awesome boat for downriver play. It has great adges that help keep me stable on harder whitewater. And enough rocker to keep my bow dry when it counts. But not too much tha it's hard to cartwheel. All around a super fun kayak

The Supernova is a confidence inspiring full slice. I find it to be stable going downstream and while in a stern squirt. This boat really helped me take my play boating skills up a notch.

I remember when the "full-slice" WAS a playboat. While most newer paddlers think of the poppy, high volume, purpose built freestyle boats made for sitting at your local park and play spot when they hear the term "play boat", I will forever consider the full-slice the true, every-person's playboat. The Supernova definitely harkens back to the era of low-rocker, pure slice, edgy full slices like the ego and others, yet it brings all the modern accoutrements to the game, with Dagger's luxurious outfitting, and just enough bow and stern rocker to allow this boat to paddle downstream through big whitewater with the ease of some of the slower full-slice designs from the last 20 years, yet it still is super fast and sharp on a wave. It thrives on the big moves on rivers like the Upper Gauley, yet shreds any wave just as well as other less forgiving designs that struggle in the downriver setting. Finally, and most importantly for a middle-aged guy like me who's over 6 feet, this is by far and away the most comfortable full slice I've ever paddled. I've thrown enough squirts for a lifetime, so the gist is that if I'm not comfortable, I'm not having fun. Yet in the Supernova, a marathon on the Gauley or all-day lapfest on the Lochsa is totally fine. I don't even have to pop my knees to take a break. So happy with this boat!

The Supernova is the ultimate slicey playboat! Discomfort is a thing of the past with roomy knee pockets, large foot area, and no sacrifice to performance. Whether you’re looking for the ultimate surfing machine, a cartwheeling machine in a hole, a downriver freestyle boat, or just something to help add some fun to your local run seriously, no need to look further. This boat is amazing!

Sitting in this boat feels like sitting in a creek boat, it is so incredibly comfy! There is no question about who has the best and most comfortable outfitting in the world of whitewater kayaking. Dagger continues to set that bar extremely high. The Nova is probably the ‘loosest’ full slice I have ever paddled, meaning it carves so well on a wave that no paddle stroke is necessary to initiate a carve in a new direction or flat spin, simply transferring weight and edges is enough. It is also fast enough to make fairly tough down river moves. The strong center pillar gives me enough confidence to creek in this hull, which is unusual for a full slice. Boats like the Super Ego and Loki have been the standards in performance for river-running full slices, but it seems there may be a new sherif in town! If you like to get recklessly vertical and you haven’t paddled this boat yet, you are truly missing out!
