The Dagger Code Whitewater Kayak is a game-changer for any paddler looking for a reliable and versatile boat. I have been paddling the Code for over 3 years now and I am still impressed by its incredible stability and predictability. One of my favorite things about the boat is its impressive bow rocker. It makes boofing over drops almost effortless. This boat is also incredibly responsive; it seems to always be doing exactly what I want it to do, wether I'm running low volume high Sierra rivers or big water Canyons in British Columbia. On multiday trips, the Dagger Code truly excels. It’s remarkably easy to pack, accommodating all the gear you need for extended adventures without compromising its performance. Even when fully loaded, it paddles like a dream, maintaining its speed and maneuverability on the water. Overall, the Dagger Code is a perfect blend of stability, performance, and practicality. It's an outstanding choice for any paddler, whether you're running big water or embarking on multi-day expeditions. This kayak is truly a joy to paddle!

My favorite creek boat on the market today! I love how easy it is to maneuver in big rapids. The edges on this boat allow you to carve and hold your line across different currents with ease. I am always confident the boat is going to stay on top of the water in any circumstance due it’s massive bow rocker! Hands down, would recommend to anyone!

The Code is one of those designs that sparks confidence in transition. I noticed that the stability was most noticeable in the odd waterlines and eddys. Most beginners struggle to read water and most advanced paddlers are focused downstream on the next feature. The Code keeps the crosscurrents and eddy lines from derailing your performance.

The medium Code is my go-to gnar runner. It's stable and predictable while also nimble and dynamic. The shorter profile is really nice on steep Southeastern creeks and enables super responsive speed modulation in an instant which is vital for those turn-n-burn moves. In terms of holding edges the Code is very forgiving. With an active core you can pretty much lock in an edge for as long as you want, which makes charc-y moves a dream. Plus, the Code sports aggressive bow rocker that sometimes has me riding high and dry even if I miss a move or plug something I intended to boof. The boat watermelon seeds or 'braaaaps' really nicely too—which can help alleviate the qualms of a missed lift. Even when things do go bad, I've had great success in escaping awkward scenarios in the Code. The boat stays dynamic in holes and doesn't lock in and pit out in a sidesurf; it's usually pretty easy to spin around and plug or just dig deep on some sculling forward strokes to fight your way out. Overall, the Code is a very easy boat to adjust to. It's both predictable and performance, rendering it a perfect craft for all levels of kayaking. This video documents my first strokes in the Medium, and showcases a number of the Code's desirable features over a lap on the Linville River in North Carolina: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebmw8kxZ-3U

The Medium Code is my go to boat for hard whitewater, but it is a great boat for paddlers of any skill level. It’s my go to for overnighters too! I love the high bow rocker, stability and responsiveness of the Code.

The Code is a refinement of many of the advances of the last 10 years, and offers the best all-around creeking platform available. The boat has the winning combination of hull design traits that the industry has slowly come to embrace, with high bow-rocker to skip and rise over anything, a dead-flat mid-hull for fast skips, and a stern made for predictable acceleration out of drops with the volume to stay safe on rocky creeks. The edges are soft on subtle edge, and the boat auto-flattens for good stability, but when put on an aggressive rail, responds immediately. While the Code does well on just about any run, it really shines on steep, hard whitewater, where confidence, responsiveness, and fun meet at the perfect triple point. If you're wanting to multi-day in Cali, charge the steeps of the Southeast, or meld into the high-water creeking of the Northwest, the Code inspires confidence without sacrificing the fun to be had on the river.

I’ve owned 3 codes over the last few years and see no reason why I won’t buy a 4th. Simply put, this boat takes care of you. The edges are very predictable , the outfitting is comfortable, and in my experience the plastic beats out the industry standard. Load it up with overnight gear or just enjoying floating high and boofing large down your favorite day run with the near comical amount of rocker.

This boat I’ve been calling the “Cheat Code” in reference to video games using an unlimited health cheat code. In all seriousness though, the predictability, confidence, and performance you get in this creeker is out of this world. If I had to go fight Hades and paddle the rapids of the River Styx, the Code is what I’d want to have with me more than anything else. I’ve never sat in anything so confidence inspiring!
