Imagine being able to confidently explore the open waters, feel the sun on your skin and enjoy a sense of freedom. For nearly 100 million Americans, this isn’t possible due to injuries, arthritis, and disabilities. That’s why Angle Oar is revolutionizing the way people with strength and mobility limitations experience the great outdoors. Our innovative paddling systems are designed with adjustable features that allow people with physical challenges to kayak independently. They open a world of possibilities for aging kayakers, accessible parks and camps, disabled veterans, physical therapists, and kayak rentals.

Overview

The Gamut Paddle Holder reduces stress on your shoulders, back and joints by supporting the weight of your paddle. This makes Gamut well-suited for paddlers with shoulder pain, arthritis, injuries or mobility limitations. It comes with a mount that attaches to most recreational sit inside kayaks. A rotating head creates a fluid, energy-efficient motion. Anglers and photographers love it because they can simply "let go" and their paddle stays in place.
Gamut delivers an energy efficient paddling experience by eliminating the weight of the paddle and requiring less hand, arm and torso rotation to operate. Gamut is a favorite among long-time paddlers who thought they might have to give up kayaking due to injuries or advancing age. Using a gentle rotating push-pull movement of the forearms, you'll glide through the water with minimal effort. The Gamut Paddle Holder is well suited for people with limited range of motion, shoulder injuries, a weak grip or limited strength. And because it can be paddled with just one hand, Gamut can be used by people with one upper limb or who have paralysis on one (or both) side(s). The system works most sit-ins and many sit-on-top kayaks. Whether you're a seasoned paddler who thought you might have to give up kayaking entirely, or you’re just starting out, the Gamut Paddle Holder will help you paddle longer and stronger.

Gamut comes with one of two mounts for sit-inside kayaks. The Hinged Mount is recommended as it provides the most stability. It attaches to most sit-in kayaks in about 15 and requires a few, small drill holes in the cockpit coaming. When paired with the Hinged Mount, Gamut can be moved forward or backward on the mount, helping you achieve the ideal distance between your torso and the paddle. Another option is the Apex Mount, which uses innovative, extremely high-grip sticky cups that adhere to the floor of the kayak. The cups can be moved to accommodate most floor configurations (e.g., ridges). With either option, Gamut be popped out of the mount with a gentle tug and used like a traditional paddle.

What Users Are Saying

Because of torn tendons in my biceps, after a couple of minutes of paddling, my shoulder starts to kill me. Now I use Versa and Gamut to support the paddle so I can continue paddling and fishing with my wife.

I have left side Hemiplegia. I was skeptical about the Gamut Oar Holder and worried it wouldn't meet my expectations. I needn't have worried. I love It. Except for having to get creative with the mounting plate because of the way my Lifetime Hydros 85 sit-on-top kayak is designed, it mounted securely to the larger plate my husband made. Customer Service was excellent with answering my questions and providing installation suggestions. I recommend Angle Oar to anyone looking for adaptive kayaking solutions
