Joe Matuska received his first kayak paddle and boat in 1973 as a graduation gift. After swimming several times during his first outing with them, he came home with a broken paddle and a broken boat. Figuring that someone with a degree in Medical Microbiology should be able to fix a broken paddle and boat, he went to work on them. The next thing he knew, he had a new hobby which lead to a lengthy career in the paddle sport industry.

Overview

The Manta Ray Carbon kayak paddle has a wider blade for more horsepower: ideal for big boats, high-angle paddlers and moving water. With its ovalized, lightweight all-carbon shaft and lightweight carbon fiber blades, it has extra strength and stiffness along with low swing weight. This kayak paddle is a first class touring choice! The Manta Ray Carbon has the option of a Posi-Lok ferrule system, which clicks into position firmly and securely, features strong, corrosion-free composite construction, and has convenient dual-button release. Licensed Ferrule US Patent No. 6,881,111. The Manta Ray Carbon is also available with a 3-hole snap-button ferrule. The Manta Ray Carbon can be ordered as a 2-piece or 4-piece paddle.
