What Users Are Saying
My wife and I have owned a ST 21 for about 6 years now. I don't know what criteria the people rating these boats is using, but here is what I know: The stellar is 20 lbs lighter than the Valley, Aleute, which we also own, and the Seaward. If you want speed, get the Stellar. If you want a rock solid camping/touring boat, get the Seaward or the Valley (they are twins of each other) I prefer rear steering control that the valley and stellar have. Seaward and Valley are both more stable than the narrower Stellar. We use the stellar more often, and on flat water (1-2 ft waves) bigger water and 15 mph plus wind we take the Valley. No slight to Seaward, we just ended up with the Valley because we couldn't get what we wanted built in time for an event and we found the Valley close to us.. My rating is Stellar first, because of weight and speed. Seawrd second, it is heavier by 20lbs, but the better expedition boat. My old Valley 3rd, because it preforms like the Seaward but the old version is 20 lbs more than a new Seaward. If you are serious about speed or expedition/camping these are the best boats.
