Pygmy Boats Inc. of Port Townsend, Washington is the largest and oldest manufacturer of precision precut wood kayak kits in North America. Started in 1986 by boat designer and software engineer, John Lockwood, Pygmy Boats produced North America's first computer designed sea kayaks. In 23 years we have expanded our line to include 22 kayak models, our rowing skiff, the Wineglass Wherry, and our canoe the Taiga. Whether a paddler is 8 or 85, novice or advanced in technique, we have a craft to suit your needs.

Overview

Weighing only 60pounds, the Osprey Double and Triple are a pleasure to paddle and easy to load. The 30-inch beam holds you steady in rough water. The Triple is a great choice for families with small children or large dogs that require their own cockpit. Its chief advantage over other tandems is that it can also be paddled solo from the center cockpit. The glass-wood sandwich construction is lighter and stiffer than fiberglass without compromising strength or durability.
