Overview

The Prospecteur 17 is the workhorse of river expeditions. Especially popular for paddling the pool-drop rivers of the Canadian shield and the long continuous rivers of Northern Canada, Esquif claims that no other canoe is better suited for these types of long trips. A classic design that gives paddlers lots of carrying capacity, great performance in class I to class III rapids, and is easy to paddle on the flatwater sections. Molded in T-Formex and tough enough to handle the demands of any expedition.

Paco

Used this boat on the Madawaska in Ontario and The Snake in the Yukon. Super tough, dependable boat. I found it to be a bit pushy in crosscurrents but controllable. Their new laminate is easily as good as Royalex.
