After over 40 years of research and development, award winning designs, world-class expeditions, supporting top class boaters and expanding to become Europe's leading specialist manufacturer of canoes and kayaks, we still design and build all our boats in Britain. We do not know where our kayaks will be paddled so they are all built to the same high standard – to be pushed to the limit by our world class team of paddlers on the world's toughest rivers in the Himalayas, Rockies and Andes. We are still primarily run by kayakers and so are committed to being on the leading edge of kayak design and make constant improvements to our whole production process to support this.

Overview

Enjoy a tandem sea kayaking trip, go adventure touring with a loved one, or take a friend on their first whitewater experience; the Fusion Duo comfortably does anything you'd realistically ask of a duo, and everything in between. The world-renowned performance of the Fusion shines through in the Fusion Duo and has been tailored to suit a variety of combinations of paddlers, so you can both enjoy the trip, whatever variety of waterway you're exploring.

This is probably the most versatile/durable tandem kayak on the market. My wife and I fly past solo paddlers with the skag down on a slow moving river. And the class-I-II shoals are almost as much fun in this tandem as paddling solo. With the skag up this boat is surprisingly responsive and it even does well with a single paddler. Now the 1/2 star hit: this boat is HEAVY. It's listed at 90 lbs which is a weight that is not too difficult for me to lift/carry especially with help. After two times pulling the boat off the SUV roof and carrying it to the river I was sure there was an error in the translation because it feels much more like 90 kg. I broke out the household scale and weighed it - 90.5 lbs. This is the heaviest 90 lbs you will ever encounter: it feels like 190 lbs. As a side note, our trips have been with another couple and I have been carrying this with a 6'3"/190 lb guy. I'm 6'0"/200 lb. Could not have gotten the boat on/off the car or to the river with my 5'3"/130 lb wife unless we had "tools." Wrapping up - this is an awesome tandem. Just be aware of the difficulty in getting on a roof rack and carrying any distance. We're going to invest in a cart and some sort of carpet or other padding to protect the car so that we can slide it up to the racks. If you have a trailer that can carry a 15' kayak - that would be best.
