Overview

A cruiser capable of taking on boisterous water, the Revolution 13 is a smooth, stable kayak. It includes go-all-day creature comforts such as the hyper adjustable Vantage CT seat. It is catchy too, with dual rod holders and plentiful tackle storage. For a change of pace from the hands-free, reversing MirageDrive 180 with Kick-Up Fins then pick up the paddle, the Revo 13 still makes tracks. If this is a floating SUV, it's one that loves a twisty, challenging track.
Equipped with an accessory mount, the lightweight, rotomolded hull sings when under optional Sail kit power. Looking for some additional coverage? Get maximum sunshade with our optional bimini. Additional features include tons of storage, Twist and Stow rudder, ergonomic carrying handles and more.

I fish in Hawaii open ocean. In order to get this yak ready for action you really need the ama's (out riggers). I mean really with the outrigger's it becomes a very stable platform, and the hull construction makes it very fast in chop and windy days. Let's face it if your yak can't handle chop and wind your taking a chance of running into trouble out in the open ocean. Just the slightest change in weather can become a nightmare and a Coast Guard rescue (make sure you have an EPIRB unit with you at all times). When your 4-6 miles off shore you don't want anything failing on you. I just up graded from a REV 11 to the 13 and the speed is very noticeable. Went from 2.5 to about 3.5 mph at cruising speed and up to 5 sustained for 300-500 yds. I carry about 50 lbs of gear with me when I go out. Recently I've been thinking about getting an electric motor setup in case of emergencies. The main reason I got the Hobie is the weight 70.5 lbs, I can carry this yak on to my car roof, and use surf racks for transporting, which also helps getting into my condo unit garage which has a low 6'-6" ceiling height. I think this is the longest and lightest yak I could get (13.5 ft. 70.5 lb) being 62 yrs old; It's harder to work with the heavier yaks and they require a truck or hard mount racks to transport them. So far the pedal drive hasn't had any problems just minor adjustments, you need to use silicone to keep em quiet. The fish finder was easy to setup but I wish the built in transducer well was setup to take the Garmin larger units (I love my Garmin 64cv). I highly advise you not to use scupper mount dolly's when loading up your yak the extra weight will put too much stress on the scupper seams, use the Ctug or something that will distribute the weight to the hull evenly with out stressing it.
