For large paddlers 6' and over, 200 lbs and over, the Advanced Elements AFX "Expedition" is surely a top candidate for best all-round kayak. Its comfort and primary stability are exceptional. If you own a hard-shell sea kayak, as I have, and also pick up this AFX "Expedition," you may find yourself using the AFX more often, even on unruly ocean waters. If you travel, the AFX "Expedition" gives you the seaworthy advantages of a sea kayak but with much easier portability. I have used my old (2007) and new (2021) "Expeditions" all around the continent, over thousands of miles of lakes, rivers, and seas, and both are still in excellent condition - very tough. Highly recommended.

I am 84 year old wildlive and nature Photographers and a new Kayaker since August 2023 in Canada - but I used Kayaks before 32 years ago on multi-daytrips in the Fingerlakes of Ontario Canada organized by the Queens University of Kingstown where I attended management courses.. I also used Klepper Germany Kayaks in the 50ties. I learned about the Advanced Elements Kayak while paddling with a professional photographer friend which owns 4 Canoes in the Mauricie Park located in Quebec, Canada. I also paddle in the Prairie River near the Island of Ile-Bizard Québec. It took some time to make me familiar with the Advanced Elements Kayak. Specially the deflating and storing the Kayak. The Kayak is quite heavy 19 Kg 42 pounds. I purchased a 2 wheel Cart and will keep the Kayak inflated during the summer months in my Garage the boat ramp being only 5 km (3 miles) from my home.
