What Users Are Saying
I've had the Delta 17 for a couple years now, and had it in a variety of conditions. I find it to be full of user-friendly features, and more comfortable than most. I think Delta's thermo-form really hits a sweet-spot between heavy and fuzzy poly and pricey 'glass. Boats that cost twice as much are a bit stiffer, but likely also a bit less impact-resistant. The cockpit is comfortably large, though I found the skirt seal isn't quite as tight as a composite boat. The Delta 17 is bigger than I expected. It feels big on the water, and holds a tremendous amount of gear. The hatches are large and the space within them is very usable. The design makes this boat a great all-rounder - quite fast, quite dry, rolls well, turns well, and very stable/reassuring in all sorts of water. I have the rudder version and have almost never deployed the rudder, so handling is easy. In sum - great value for a well-designed, well-appointed, and well-built sea kayak.
