What Users Are Saying
My wife and I have been avid kayakers for many years, we normally paddle small to medium rivers ,lakes, streams with some nice trips to larger waters when the wind is down. I am in my late 60's, my wife isn't far behind. We decided we wanted a shorter lighter boat to use when we knew we had to portage or deal with frequent beaver dams as we were finding our 14 ft 60 lb kayaks a bit hard to handle in these areas. The only true light weight kayak available in our area was a delta. We decided on the 10ar which we have used for the 2022 paddling season. We like the overall build , we think it will withstand the rigors of going over the many beaver dams in areas we frequent in search of wildlife .Stable exit/entry , decent sized cockpit, adequate seat, we like the storage pod and easy to reach deck strapping, rear dry compartment is a good size.. And at 37 lbs this kayak is certainly easy to transport and easy for us to maneuver . Tracking is ok at best in our opinion. But our biggest complaint is all the noise this boats make. There is nothing " quiet" about this kayak as the writeup states. Anything above 4 kph , this boat plows ,water curls up the bow ,nosily rolls off leaving a trail of air bubbles in it's wake . We do not want to listen to a kayak going through the water like a barge .Not the performance we expected from an expensive kayak . For us it certainly ruins the paddling experience.
