Overview

ZET introduces FIVE, the fifth boat in its lineup. Developed together with top paddlers and the ZET team, this new kayak brings all the components a kayaker can wish for in a boat for active moves on whitewater. FIVE is an aggressive whitewater boat, gliding nicely over waves and holes, accelerating like a demon and holding its line without any reduction in speed.
FIVE is a boat for proactive whitewater paddlers. When actively kept under control the kayak will reward with an instant reaction to every stroke. Every eddy carved and hole boofed is bound to bring a smile to a paddler’s face. The width and the length of the FIVE mean that the boat holds its line perfectly and accelerates very fast. The hull is designed to release well from the water and, as such, to be predictable, yet aggressive in proper whitewater. A rockered bow and balanced hull with no “catchy” features makes it easy to maneuver and sensitive to paddle strokes, qualities that mean the boat will perform well in a whitewater race environment. Designing the FIVE, we have focused intensely, not only on the functionality of the boat but also on the fine details and construction. We believe you will be more than excited about our new kayak, FIVE.

I recently picked up my Zet Five. Im a creature of habit when it comes to my paddling, very used to every boat I ever paddle and begrudgingly change even a degree on my paddle, let alone a creek boat. Long before I learned the boat I had it out on some challenging class 4/4+ and the Five performed better than I did. A few lines I took I expected to wind up upside down, or at least be less than graceful, so far this boat has handled everything the river has thrown at it. Im a fairly small paddler at 5'6 & 130lbs, and yet the boat is fast, responsible and nimble as can be in the water. It sends absolutely massive boofs, tears through holes and sticks any line you set if you stay on it leading in. The design & outfitting is great, the plastic feels really strong, yet still a very light & comfortable boat to carry. Its the first time in a long time that I've been excited to take a "creek" boat out to about anything im paddling.

At 5'7" and weighing 150 lbs, I was looking for a great racing and creeking boat. I used to paddle the Phantom but that always felt really big for me. The Five on the other hand fits me like a glove! It's smaller than the phantom and bigger than the remix 69 i used to paddle; the exact size I was looking for. The bow rocker is great, skips right through holes, just enough edges for me to carve / pierce in and out of eddies, and the volume would be great for overnight trips. I used to struggle with maneuvering the phantom but the Five handles much better, easy to make tight turns and holds a good line. I paddled everything from class 1-2, big water runs, and steep creeks in the Five and felt absolutely in control! This kayak will get you on the water as quickly as possible, with minimal outfitting challenges, and a design that prioritized the customers experience, you can hop in a Zet kayak and be comfortable enough to paddle a variety of whitewater. The design of the Five is really incredible and the customer experience was kept in mind during the design process; the idea of the replaceable drain plug, along with a single allen key to adjust the boat makes things simple for the customer. The foam seat is also ingenious, easily customizable if needed. Can't wait to start paddling more continuous and steeper class 4-5 runs in the Five as my skills progress!
