Joe Matuska received his first kayak paddle and boat in 1973 as a graduation gift. After swimming several times during his first outing with them, he came home with a broken paddle and a broken boat. Figuring that someone with a degree in Medical Microbiology should be able to fix a broken paddle and boat, he went to work on them. The next thing he knew, he had a new hobby which lead to a lengthy career in the paddle sport industry.

Overview

With its sleek and lightweight carbon fiber blade and all-carbon shaft providing extra strength and stiffness, the Eagle Ray Carbon kayak paddle is a first class touring choice. This specific narrow blade shape offers extra pull for low-angle paddlers and heavily-loaded boats. The Eagle Ray Carbon has the option of a Posi-Lokferrule system which clicks into position firmly and securely, features strong, corrosion-free composite construction, and has convenient dual-button release. Licensed Ferrule US Patent No. 6,881,111. The Eagle Ray Carbon is also available with a 3-hole snap button ferrule. This paddle can be ordered as a 2-piece or 4-piece model.
